Messiter’s Messages

Mr Messiter’s words, a summary of the achievements of the whole Wakehurst house and individual students. Term 1 has been a term that celebrated all facets of school life. Mr Messiter gives us a concluding message, and heralds the Wakehurst spirit.

Fyodor Dostoevsky

Delve into two Dostoevsky masterpieces, Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov, that investigate crime, guilt, and redemption. It reveals how Dostoevsky’s characters wrestle with moral responsibility and free will, shaped by a conscience that no rational argument can dismiss. In both novels, suffering emerges as a catalyst for spiritual rebirth, while compassion and humility stand as the only remedies for pride and despair.

The Head of Co-Education and The Academy, Ms Daisy Turnbull, who joined us this term, provides us with three insightful and reflective quotes from prominent female authors that provokes self-reflection in our own lives.
